Emerging Leaders Program: Not-for-Profit Sector

Since 2013, AcademyGlobal has continuously run the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) for the not-for-profit sector annually. The program draws up to 20 participants from across all states and territories of Australia to complete a five-day intensive course across the topics of leadership and communication, change management, team building, influencing and negotiation, innovation and creative thinking, financial acumen and project management. This program is managed by AcademyGlobal, with facilitators from AcademyGlobal and faculty from a major Australian university delivering the wide range of content areas. Organisations represented on the ELP include National Breast Cancer Foundation, Salvation Army, Scope, UNICEF, Red Cross Australia, LifeLine, St Vincent de Paul, UnitingCare and the Starlight Foundation.

Eligibility to participate in the program is based on need, which includes an identified area for organisational improvement and senior executive sponsorship. At the conclusion of the program, a high-level plan to implement a change initiative in their organisation is presented to faculty members and peers. Over the past nine years, feedback drawn from both participants and their sponsors has been highly favourable, with many organisations embedding this program as part of their annual capability program.
