Ian Hunter

Ian has over 25 years’ experience working in public policy, regulation and program delivery.

At the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet, Ian led development of whole-of-government policy on resource access, land use planning, local government administration and the environment. Applying highly sophisticated mediation and negotiation skills. Ian led the resolution of several complex policy challenges, including regulatory reform. He built and maintained networks across government to ensure government priorities were delivered on time and on budget. Ian was the lead negotiator for the NSW Government on complex inter-governmental issues.

More recently, Ian provided leadership to over 500 staff, where he delivered a wide range of complex and high profile government programs and inspired a customer-focused culture of delivery in the group. As a senior executive, Ian played a critical role in strategic planning, corporate governance and policy development. Ian holds a Master of Environmental Management, University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Australian History and Politics, University of Wollongong.
