Sandra worked as a journalist, feature writer and editor for 11 years in Australia and the UK. She made a career switch into government communications and worked in five government departments.

Sandra was the Queensland manager for Communication and Marketing. In her final government role at the Australian National Training Authority, she was national Public Affairs manager.

Since 2005, Sandra has been director of WriteBusiness, a consultancy specialising in writing for business and government and facilitating workshops in business and government writing. She was the principal writing consultant for the Institute of Public Administration (IPAA) in Queensland until its closure in 2013 and continues to provide consultancy services for IPAA NSW. She has trained staff in almost every Queensland government department, the Brisbane City Council, Sunshine Coast Council, all major universities in Queensland and for Suncorp Insurance. In NSW, she has delivered training for the Customer Service Department and for TAFE NSW. Sandra Hogan’s combination of experience as a journalist, senior public servant and facilitator places her ideally to assist people in business to gain the writing skills that will boost their careers.
